However, it isn't only the stage which we perform our play, but how we carry our scenes out. With the two previous examples, how the players interact with the maps and the use of their ingame equipment can either maximize and advantages a map has, or hand a victory over to the opposing team.
So, what about World of Warships? Take a look at this rare battle....
The map; North. From my starting position at G8, I set a northeasterly course through the eastern islands....
....I use the land masses to conceal my approach to the enemy capture point. I expect, around every corner, somebody from the red team is there, waiting for me with guns and torpedoes....
....even as I round the last corner, I am greeted with nothing but open water....
....so, I pop a smokescreen and spin doughnuts in the water, unopposed by anyone from the enemy team. The pattern I have seen on this map a few times before is this; both teams will leave their spawn areas and sweep through the map in a clockwise/counter-clockwise fashion. One team will start the capture counter, causing the defending team to turnback in an attempt to rest the timer and/or destroy the enemy force attempting the capture.
This time, I just got lucky, for two reasons. One, the enemy team all "lemming trained" one way. Although their cap was somewhat guarded, they didn't seem to be interested in me. Two, most of my team, by fluke or design, intercepted the enemy team in the west and tied them up long enough to pull this off.
In any case, this is my first battle, where I helped with the victory and never fired a shot doing it.
So, a battle for posterity and material for one of those "pics, or it never happened" moments.
